August 6-12: The SRF 2017 World Convocation will be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. The convocation is a week of immersion in the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, presented by monks and nuns of the SRF order, and attended by thousands of people from around the world. The program includes technique review classes, satsangas, kirtans, and inspiring lectures on how to apply spiritual principles to our daily lives. Those attending may also sign up for pilgrimages to Encinitas, Mother Center, Lake Shrine, Hollywood Temple, and our Guru's crypt at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. For program information, click here.
August 13: There will be a kirtan led by our Center members on Sunday, August 13 from 12:30-1:30 pm. Come and experience the joy of chanting together in devotion to God.
August 14: You are warmly invited to our Janmashtami service, to commemorate the birth of Bhagavan Krishna, on Monday, August 14 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Please bring a flower as a symbol of devotion to God and Guru, and a donation may be offered as a sign of loyalty to SRF. Special services are open to SRF students, members, and anyone drawn to the Self-Realization line of Gurus.
August 20: All are welcome to our Post-Convocation potluck social on Sunday, August 20 after the service. Bring your favorite vegetarian dish, salad, or dessert, and your Convocation experiences to share.
August 25: Please join us for a special guided meditation on Friday, August 25 from 6:30-9:30 pm. During this meditation, the congregation will be led by the service reader through the practice of various meditation techniques. Select devotional readings and chants will also be chosen for this service to allow participants to go deeper into meditation. If you are looking for a bit more focus in your group meditations, this may be just the thing. All are welcome to attend.
